Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using the Tiah iOS app or the tiah.app website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Predictions (TTRF)

Tiah Tornado Risk Fusion ("TTRF") produces a computed, probabilistic estimate of tornado risk for the 0–7 hour horizon. TTRF is NOT an official warning. It is a model, and models can be wrong in either direction. You agree not to use TTRF as the sole basis for any decision with life-safety consequences.

4. Not medical advice

Tiah is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Health-profile toggles only personalize which alerts you see. Consult a qualified clinician for any medical decision.

5. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent allowed by applicable law.
• Use Tiah to build a competing dataset or service.
• Use Tiah in a way that violates any law or infringes any third-party right.
• Scrape, rate-limit-bust, or otherwise abuse any third-party data source that Tiah connects to.

7. Third-party data

Tiah surfaces data from third-party providers (NWS, ECCC, SPC, USGS, EPA, Apple Weather, Open-Meteo, iNaturalist, and — if you enable them — Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any third-party data.

8. AI providers

If you enable an online AI provider, your chat messages are transmitted to that provider to generate a response. Their terms and privacy policies apply to that data. Choosing "Apple On-Device" keeps everything on your device.

9. No warranty

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert or prediction will be accurate or timely.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Tiah, Tiah, its affiliates, officers, employees, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, or for any loss, injury, damage, or harm resulting from (a) your reliance on any alert, prediction, or other information provided by the Service, or (b) any failure of the Service to deliver an alert or prediction, or (c) any inaccuracy in data supplied by a third-party source. Our total liability will not exceed US $50 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tiah and Tiah from any claim arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the State of California, USA.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Effective date" above reflects the current version. Continued use after a material update constitutes acceptance.
